Land Group Fitness Classes


Land Group Fitness classes are available to members at no extra cost!  Classes are offered on a first come, first served basis.  The YMCA reserves the right to replace a scheduled class with another similar class in the event the regular instructor is unable to teach.

BodyCOMBAT®
A non-combat, martial arts-based fitness program with moves drawn from Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Kung Fu, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Tai Chi.  The class is
choreographed to ten tracks of the latest music, providing an exhilarating experience that delivers ultra-fast results.

BodyPUMP®
A strength endurance training class where muscle and music collide!  It is designed to get you maximum results in the shortest amount of time by working your ENTIRE body in one hour.  34 Participant max.

Cardio Funk
A very energetic, fun filled class that combines all the latest moves, from hip hop, Zumba, Salsa and hi/lo aerobics.  This is an incredibly FUN way to exercise!

Cardio Cha Cha
A fun, up-tempo cardio class
featuring the latest moves from cha cha, samba, salsa, mambo, paso doble, jive, and many more favorites.  Come dance your way to better health!

Cardio Jump
Jumping rope is a great cardiovascular exercise and burns a lot a lot of calories.  Mix jumping rope with a variety of other heart pumping exercise to get a great 45 minute calorie burning workout.  No jump rope experience needed.

Cycle
Cycle is an indoor cycling class created to challenge both the beginner fitness enthusiast and the seasoned athlete.  Each ride on the bike helps to increase your cardiovascular endurance, reduce body fat, increase muscular strength and improve flexibility.  24 Participant max.

Jump –N– Pump
Jumping rope is a great cardiovascular exercise and burns a lot of calories.  In this class you will mix jumping rope with muscle work to get a full body workout.  No jump rope experience needed.

Kickbox
Get ready to kick it, jab it, and tone it!  This class combines kickboxing techniques that will elevate your heart rate, as well as tone and strengthen your muscles.  Work  at your own pace!

Power Core
A 30 minute class focusing on strengthening the deep muscles of the abdomen and lower back known as the core.  This class is a must for any cyclist, runner, or fitness enthusiast needing to strengthen the stabilizer muscles.  Results will include a lean, powerful, sculpted mid-section.


Step Interval
This class is for those with basic step knowledge.  Fun and intense cardio moves combined with muscle sculpting.  Come and let our instructors take you a STEP beyond!  34 participant max.

Super Step
A continuous cardiovascular workout using one or more than one step, combining many step movements and patterns.  Knowledge of step movements a plus.

Total Body Conditioning
This class starts with a warm-up, and then covers the entire body, working all muscle groups with resistance training using weights, body bars, and bands.  This conditioning class ends with awesome abs combinations and final stretch.  Remember that a well-toned body burns more calories at rest!

 

Mind/Body Fitness Classes


Mind/Body classes are available to members at no extra cost!  Classes are offered on a first come, first served basis.  The YMCA reserves the right to replace a scheduled class with another similar class in the event the regular instructor is unable to teach.

Abs, Core, & More
Core strength, core stability, balance, focus...you will use a variety of equipment.  Medicine Balls, Physio balls, tubing, and more.

Core Ball
This FUNctional workout is designed to help improve your posture, increase balance, coordination, and strength.  The exercise movements focus on core stability.  Medicine balls, Physio balls, and other weight training equipment will be used to build total body strength.

Hatha Yoga
An integration between flow of postures, breath, and mental focus, with an emphasis on refining and holding postures.

Intermediate Yoga
This class is a great combination of different yoga styles, all combined into one EXCELLENT yoga experience.  Appropriate for ALL fitness levels.

Introduction to Yoga
A great starting point for first timers or someone interested in a relaxing stretch.

Vinyasa Yoga
An active class emphasizing the development of strength, flexibility, balance, and grace through the use of postures linked through the synchronization of breath with movement.

Power Yoga (Ashtanga)
The synchronization of movement with breath creates an internal heat, which purifies, strengthens, and energizes the body and mind.

Power Yoga Plus
The class begins with yoga poses and movements synchronized with the breath to create heat and raise the heart rate.  The second half of class will focus on strengthening the core through yoga and pilates inspired exercises.

Pilates
This class focuses on the “powerhouse”.  It is from within the abdominal region of the body, the powerhouse, that we support the spine and all our major organs.  When you strengthen this area you dramatically improve your alignment and posture.

Tai chi Chih’
A series of gentle movements that stimulate, circulate, and balance internal energy.  Beneficial results are obtained regardless of age, physical condition, or agility.  Come and relax your body while focusing your mind!

Yoga/Pilates Fusion
A perfect combination of two very popular classes fused together, making this one hour class challenging and relaxing.  Strengthen your core and get a relaxing stretch all in one class.

New York City Ballet Workout
A gentle, yet challenging workout based on ballet technique focusing on fun, flexibility, core stabilization, developing balance, and grace.
