The YMCA health and wellness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities.
YMCA programs and services cut across diverse populations with diverse needs and attempt to take into account the total-health of each person. The YMCA provides a variety of health and wellness programs including exercise and water fitness classes for people and families of all ages, health and wellness seminars, educational classes, personalized training programs, non-competitive youth and adult sports leagues and social opportunities for seniors and families.

ACTIVE FAMILY TIME
*Free for Full Privilege Family Members ONLYKids ages 6-12
Active Family Time is open for children whose parents are participating in an aerobics class in the gym. The gym is divided and kids will participate in physical activity while their parents are participating in the aerobics class. Parents must sign their children in and out of the program each week.

BODYPUMP BIA
All Classes are one hour unless otherwise indicated.
Designed for all ages and fitness levels, BODYPUMP delivers real results, real fast. This athletic-based workout uses barbells with adjustable weights to work every major muscle group in the body. With motivating music and awesome instructors, BODYPUMP strengthens, tones, and defines like nothing else can!
TRIM ‘N SCULPT BIA
This body conditioning class will tone, firm, and reshape your entire body by reducing body fat and increasing lean muscle. The 45-minute workout is fast-paced and challenging with motivating music that will help you improve strength, flexibility, posture, and balance without adding bulk. The group atmosphere and ending “thought of the day” will leave you wanting more! All ability levels welcome.
WOMEN’S BODYSHAPING BI (Held in the fitness center.)
Improve your overall health, quicken your metabolic rate, develop a positive self image, and learn how weight training can work for you. This class utilizes various weight training equipment to strengthen your abdomen, back, chest, shoulders, legs, hips, and arms.
AB ATTACK BIA
Designed for beginners, as well as more advanced exercisers, this class targets the mid-section. Work your abdominals and back from a variety of angles in this 20-minute class and promote core strength and stabilization.
BODYSTEP BIA
BODYSTEP is an athletic workout that will shape and tone your entire lower body and push your fat-burning systems into high gear! The group atmosphere is inspiring. The music and energy is addictive! Effective and easy-to-follow moves provide a high-energy, athletic cardio blast that is simple enough for men and women of all ages & fitness levels.
DANCE AEROBICS BIA
The aerobic class that gives you great cardiovascular conditioning without repetitive movements. This is a dance-inspired program that blends jazz, ballet, and modern dance to challenge the intermediate/advanced exerciser both physically and mentally. Class also includes 15 minutes of toning and matwork. *Drop-in by instructor approval
FLEX BIA
Walk, skip, jog, and run your way to fitness. Combine all the benefits of cardio, strength, and flexibility in one workout! We leave out the complicated choreography and add motivational music to help you meet your fitness goals.
WALKING CLUB BI (formerly Mommy & Me Stroller Fitness)
Do you enjoy walking? Is it getting too cold? Rainy? Icy? Come join our Wednesday WALKING CLUB & forget the weather outside! Add strength and stretch segments to complete this 60-minute workout. Friends, family, neighbors, and strollers welcome.
***NOTE: Walking Club CANCELLED on Wed. 10:45 am- 11:45 am.
QI GONG BI
QI GONG, which literally means “energy work” is similar to Tai Chi, in that it incorporates slow, meditative movements with deep abdominal breathing. Learn to calm the mind as you energize the body.
YOGA BIA
Derived from the sanscrit word “yug”, yoga means to yoke, bend, join, or direct one’s attention. This beautiful, ancient system uses the practice of postures, proper breathing, and concentration techniques that teach the yoga student to focus on the spirit, mind, and body.
YOGALATE BI
Get the best of both Yoga and Pilates training in one class. Build core strength and give muscles definition in this 60-minute workout.
PILATES IA
Experience the form of exercise founded by Joseph Pilates over half a century ago. This format focuses on core abdominal strength, body alignment, concentration, and yoga-like stretching. Unlike many other programs, PILATES creates length in the muscles, redefining them to give a longer, leaner look. Build core strength and flexibility in this 60-minute mat class.
ZUMBA BIA
A fun and exciting Latin dance inspired fitness workout that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements combining fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Leave your inhibitions at the door and let the music carry you to places you've never been before! (no dance experience necessary)
BOOT CAMP IA
Reshape your body with this high-energy, athletic workout combining fast-paced cardio and multi-muscle strength exercises. Designed to give maximum result, the class will challenge and motivate you like no other!
ADVANCED STRENGTH & INDURANCE TRAINING IA
Held in the Fitness Center. Drop by to join this casual, fun group for weight training that emphasizes muscle toning and core body conditioning. The best of both worlds, socializing and exercising using free weights, machines and balls make this class an absolute favorite for those who need a quick and efficient workout.

Ambler Area YMCA is proud to announce that we now have 5 personal trainers who specialize in working with cancer survivors, trained by Dr. Kate Schmidtz of the University of Pennsylvania.
H.I.P Kids
H.I.P. Kids is a Health Intervention Program for children ages 8 and up who are at risk of becoming, or who are, overweight or obese. This 8-week Health Intervention Program meets twice a week and is led by a professional degreed in Exercise Science and a Registered Dietician. The H.I.P. kids staff will educate children and parents on nutrition and exercise and introduce behavioral modification strategies that prevent or reduce the onset of diseases associated with a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet choices.

FT.WASHINGTON WELLNESS CENTER PROGRAMS
Y Stride: Treadmill Conditioning Program
Perfect for any fitness level! Learn how to get the most of your treadmill workout with a coach guiding through your session. Come learn how to warm up, get in your cardio zone, cool down and stretch. Class is limited to 8 Participants.
Teen Spin
Improve your cardiovascular endurance, tone your abs, build, strength all in this hour long, once per week class. Anyone is welcomed Wednesday 4:15pm to 5:15pm
Please bring a water bottle and towel.
Fitness Orientation
This is an introduction for Full Privilege Membership to our Fitness Centers. The orientation teaches basic strength training and cardiovascular techniques and principles. The participants are also entered into one of our Schwinn Fitness Advisor computer tracking programs.
Full Members: FREE
Youth Strength Training
This program teaches youth between the ages of 10-13 basic weight lifting skills and fitness etiquette. Lightweights with high repetitions and a mix of free weights and Cybex machines will be included in this program.

Spinning
Spinning is an indoor cycling class created to challenge both the beginner fitness enthusiast and the seasoned athlete. Let one of our certified spinning instructors guide you through the ride on this revolutionary training bike which has been constructed to simulate the feel of a high performance road bicycle. Spinning maximizes your workout by allowing the rider to achieve the four elements of physical fitness all in a 45 minute class. Each ride on a spinning bike helps to increase your cardiovascular endurance, reduce body fat, increase muscular strength and improve flexibility.
