Aquatic Fitness Classes Free to all Full-privilege Members

Twinges and Hinges

This half-hour program is designed to improve your health by enhancing motor skills and range of motion. Designed especially for people with Arthritis.

 

 

Aquacise

Aquacise is a 45 minute moderately intense workout designed to increase flexibility and trim your body.  Classes take place in shallow water and incorporate resistance training using special equipment.
 

 

 

Exerswim

Exerswim is an hour –long class that offers an intense cardiovascular workout that uses the water’s  natural qualities, buoyancy and resistance to strengthen and tone your body. The class takes place in both the deep and shallow water.

Deep Water Fitness

Deep Water Fitness will increase your circulation and flexibility while building endurance in a NON-IMPACT environment. This is a 45 minute exersize class. Proper floatation equipment is provided., so non-swimmers are welcome.

Deep Water Aerobics

This is a 55 minute, NON-IMPACT high intensity cardiovascular work-out performed exclusively in Deep Water. Using floatation devices on your ankles, hand barbells are supplied to challenge the participant and increase resistance.

Aqua Jog

Aqua Jog is a one-hour high intensity, non-impact deep water fitness class. It combines aerobic exercise with abdominal work.

Pool Parties

Make a big splash for your next birthday or special occasion!  Enjoy an hour in the pool, followed by approximately 1 hour in the party room.  Call Debbie Scheiner at 610-649-0700 ext. 1404 for questions and information.

Parent Child Classes

 

 

Preschool Age Swim Classes (Ages 3-5 years)

 Pike (Beginner) Beginners swim class for 3 to 5 year olds. Children will learn to put their face in the water and blow bubbles, unsupported horizontal float with kicking, supported back float, and beginning alternating arm action.

Progressive Swim Lessons (Ages 6-12 years)

Polliwog 

 

 

Guppy Beginner II swim class for those 6 years old and up, must pass polliwog level. Children will be introduced to rotary breathing with the crawl stroke, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Develop deep water confidence and able to swim 10 to 15 yards.

Minnow  

 

Fish Intermediate II swim class for those 7 years old and up, must pass minnow level. Children will refine and build endurance in front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Refine diving and treading water. They will be introduced to breaststroke. Build endurance to 50 yards.

Flying Fish

 

Shark Advanced swim class in which students have mastered all the swimming strokes and can swim 4 pool lengths of all strokes but butterfly.  Students will work on competitive starts and turns, while highlighting lifesaving strokes.

Advanced swim class for those 8 years old and up, must pass fish level. Children will refine and build endurance in front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. They will be introduced to butterfly and diving from the blocks. Build endurance to 100 to 200 yards.

Intermediate I swim class for those 6 years old and up, must pass guppy level. Children will strengthen their front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Begin diving and treading water. Build endurance to 25 yards.

Beginner I swim class for those 6 to 12 years old. Children will learn to float on the front and back unsupported, beginner crawl stroke approximately 5 to 10 yards, and to kick on their back.

Pre-Swim Team

The Dolphins The MLY's Preswim team is an exciting introduction to being on a competitive swim team.  This program develops and improves swimmers' strokes so that they can swim on a competitive swim team.

Adult Instruction
It is never too late to learn to swim or improve your current swimming abilities. Even though this is a group lesson, each swimmer gets individuals attention based on their specific needs.
Fee: Full Privileged Member $39 for either Summer A or Summer B 

Beginner: Tuesday 7:40-8:25 pm
 

 

 

Open to anyone 3 years and up! Learn to swim in a individualized setting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eel (Advanced Beginner) Intermediate swim class 3 to 5 year olds, must pass pike level. Children will learn unsupported front and back floats, beginning front crawl approximately 5 yards and back float with flutter kick.

Ray (Intermediate) Advanced swim class for 4 to 6 year olds, must pass eel level. Children will be introduced to side breathing with the crawl stroke, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Begin diving and develop deep water confidence. By the end able to swim 10 to 15 yards.

Starfish (Advanced) Advanced swim class to 4 to 6 year olds, must pass ray level. Children will strengthen their front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and diving. Breaststroke and treading water will be introduced and will build endurance to 25 yards.

Shrimp (Waterbabies) (6 months - 2 years) This is a water inroduction class for infants and their parents.  The class will be an excellent bonding experience with parent and child.

Inia (Aquatots) (18 months - 3 years) This course continues to introduce toddlers to the water.  The goal is a familiarity with the skills taught, not mastery of them.

Perch Plus (Swim Partners) (3 - 5 years) This course is designed for children who are ready to be challenged, but are not comfortable being separated from their parent, yet.
