Columbia North YMCA Adult Programs
The Columbia North YMCA has a variety of programs for our adult population. Read below for a list of clases as well as times for your convenience.
Water Walk
Exciting deep-water exercise program using buoyancy belts that allow participants to fully utilize the water’s natural resistance. This program includes a 60-minute cardiovascular workout followed by toning and a stretch. Held Fridays from 6:30pm—7:30pm. Also held Tuesday & Thursday Mornings from 8:30am—9:30am.
Aquacise Mid
A mildly agressive, medium intensity Aquatic Fitness program done in the shallow water. Focus is cardiovascular fitness, improved flexibility, muscle shaping and toning, and increased strength.
Held Saturdays from 9:00am—9:45am.
Private or Semi-Private Swimming Lessons
Open to all ages and swimming levels. Semi private lessons can have up to 3 participants who have similar abilities. Gain that extra help from a private swim instructor. Our goal is to create a positive experience so the participants gain confidence in the water.
Private Swim Lessons (1:1) 8—30 minutes lessons
Fee: Full members $16 a lesson/Program members $20 a lesson
Semi Private Swim Lessons (1:2 or 1:3) 8—45 minute lessons
Fee: Full Members $11 a lesson/Program members $15 a lesson
*This fee reflects price for up to 3 participants in the semi-private class.

Teen and Adult Instruction
Designed for the participant 15 years and older, this class focuses on water acclimation, stroke development, efficiency and fitness orientation. Classes are formed based on skill level and aquatic comfort. Additional opportunities include Discovery S.C.U.B.A., S.C.U.B.A., and competitive programming. Ideal for groups 3 or more. Held Thursdays 7:00pm—7:50pm.
Fee: Full Privilege Members—$45.00;
*One session is 8 weeks long. (7 classes, 7 weeks)

Wellness Orientation
Not familiar with our equipment or have questions about an exercise routine? Let us help you. Meet with a Wellness Coach to discuss your activity interests and exercise needs. Whether it’s to learn how to use the equipment or to just talk about your exercise options at our facility, we’re here to help. Schedule appointments at the Fitness Center. *Required for all new members!

Personal Training
This program is done through a certified instructor. The training is specialized to the participant in a one-to-one setting. It maximizes your ability to reach your goals. Our fitness center is equipped with Professional grade weightlifting and fitness equipment. Fitness center equipped with air conditioning.

A traditional one-on-one personal training appointment. Appointments are 1 hour. Appointments available on land and in the pool.
5 Sessions: $120
Totally Abs
This high impact class is designed to strengthen the abdominal area, with a focus on strength, flexibility, stamina, and balance.

BodyPUMP®
This is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body (known as the fastest way to get in shape on the planet). This 60 minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts, and curls. Great music and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for—and fast!

Senior Weightlifting
This program will help seniors to develop functional strength safely and effectively. A great confidence booster!

Step Aerobics
Combines Cardio exercise with rhythmic steps to music for a full impact workout. Cardio step platforms used to step onto.

Water Exercise
Great way to enjoy the water while you build stamina, strength, and flexibility in a group environment.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am—9:30am :Taught by Mr. Nate
Line Dancing
In this class, you will learn the latest dance steps, get a low impact workout, and relieve stress to some great dance music. Lots of fun! Great place to socialize!

Shotokan Karate
(Martial Arts ) - ages 5 to adult
Develops your mind, body, and spirit through discipline, flexibility, and breathing techniques. Builds self confidence, and teaches practical self defense techniques. No experience needed. Class is taught by Mr. Wayne.
