Christian Street Annual Support

Every child deserves a chance to succeed and at the YMCA we focus on engaging kids in programs that help them to grow into strong adults. Early childhood education, before and after school care, Y Achievers, The Saturday Fun Club, and Leaders Clubs help children develop a lifetime love of learning and instill the YMCA character values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring. Financial limitations prevent children from engaging in YMCA programs. Each year volunteers raise dollars to ensure that every child is afforded the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, regardless of financial circumstances.

Your Dollars At Work

Every year the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity is able to provide more than $1.5 million to serve children and families in need of financial assistance. Last year, the Christian Street distributed  $154,539 in financial assistance to  over a 100 needy families by:

• Enabling 53 children and youth an opportunity to participate in summer day camp.
• Educating 33 of young children ages 0-5 in licensed childcare and after school programs.
• Keeping 73 of children active and engaged in youth sports, aquatics, and the Health Intervention Program.
