The YMCA health and wellness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities.

Wellness Orientation
New and returning members with questions about our equipment, how to develop an exercise routine, or safe ways to exercise, should sign up for a Wellness Orientation at the Welcome Center. Each member received up to three free visits!
Teens ages 13-17 are permitted to use the Wellness Center after completing an orientation to the proper use of equipment and guidelines for behavior with a YMCA Wellness Coach.
Personal Training
Work with a certified personal trainer to maximize your ability to reach your goals. Our fitness center is equipped with Professional grade weightlifting and fitness equipment. Contact Jennifer Leupold for more information or to schedule, jleupold@philaymca.org.

Abs & Glutes
A workout focusing on strengthening the abdominals and lower back. Core muscle training promotes proper posture and movement, aiding in the prevention of injury
Aerobics
This class will help you take your workout to the next level. Using weights, core strength, and mat work combined with cardio bursts, this class works out your total body.
Mat Pilates
Mat-based class that improves core strength, balance and toning.
Cardio Belly Dancing
This fun, dance based class works your midsection, and is a total body, cardio workout. No previous dance experience needed!
Body Pump
Body Pump is the fastest way to shape up and lose body fat. It is a toning and conditioning class with weights and is for just about everybody who wants to add strength training into their aerobic workout. The simplicity of this class makes Body Pump a great starting point to develop strength and confidence. Hot sounds and compelling choreography keep you going through each 45 minute to 1 hour workout! You will use a bar and a set of weights.
Power Yoga
A unique and empowering style of yoga that combines a series of Vinyasa "flow-like" postures and deep breathing to restore the body, increase flexibility and endurance, and release tension. This series is followed by a 15 minute "cool-down" sequence of stretching, personal reflection and rest.
Yoga
This beautiful ancient system uses the practice of postures, proper breathing and concentration techniques, which teach the Yoga student to focus on the spirit, mind and body.
Chair Yoga
This Yoga class is taught with students seated in chairs instead of on the floor. It is excellent to improve joint strength, flexibility, and mobility.
Stretch Class
Designed for all levels, this class teaches you to stretch out like an athlete. Improve flexibility and core strength. Includes mat and floor work.
Core Conditioning
Tighten and tone your mid section plus cardio bursts to burn calories! Includes mat and floor work.
Beginner Fitness
Just getting started? This beginner class introduces safe, effective exercises with weights, bands, and balls. Combining seated and standing resistance exercises let beginners progress at their own pace to build strength, lose weight, and achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Total Body Conditioning
This class will help you take your workout to the next level. Using weights, core strength, and mat work combined with cardio bursts, this class works out your total body.
Line Dancing
This program is design to help you incorporate line dancing into a form of aerobic activity. This fun way of working out helps relieves stress, weight loss and can even sharpen memory skills. Learn basic steps for various dances including Marvin Gay Walk, Personality, Cha-cha Slide and more. No experience necessary.
Zumba
Ditch the workout, join the party! Zumba is a fitness program inspired by Latin Dance. Zumba is a mix of salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, flamenco and aerobics that'll turn your regular sweat session into a heart-pumping dance party. Music selections include both fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body as party of the workout.
